Charles J. Kovalick is a wildlife and landscape artist located in the mountains in Noxen, Pa. Chuck paints primarily in two mediums oil and acrylic, oil being his medium of choice. Chuck has also dabbled in portrait paintings and paintings of family pets but only when commissioned. Most if not all his ideas have come from years of appreciation of the great outdoors. Chuck has spent a great deal of his life doing things like hiking, camping, hunting, fishing and just being outdoors. Now a days his time is spent painting and enjoying his family. Chuck enjoys making some of his own frames (using old barn wood), doing his own matting and stretching some of his own canvases. Chuck feels a great deal of accomplishment with every painting he completes. Chuck likes to paint scenes that other people who go in the woods or even those that don't go into the woods might miss. Chuck wants anyone looking at the painting to feel like they can reach out and touch the animal or have the feeling that they are there in that moment in time.
Charles is mainly a self taught artist but he has had a little schooling to help him refine his technique at Luzerne County Community College in Nanticoke, PA. Chuck donates his time and talent to the Noxen Historical Community's art class where he enjoys sharing his ability with anyone of any age. Chuck's paintings are on display at the Noxen Historical Community Building in Noxen, Pa. They are available for showing when the school is open or by appointment (see contact information). His paintings are also displayed at the Bitterroot National Forest in Montana and at Sky Lake, NY. What Chuck wants most is for anyone who enjoys his art to have a sense that they are there in that moment in time!
